Being a supv sucks

I guess thats that. I hate dealing with unions and stuff. Love our Labor relations dept tho.

Ok, Last night we had a "real storm". Snow in the Mts, rain, hail and thunder and lightening that shook the house and got the dogs crazy scared. Wow it was awesome.

This weekend was nice an peaceful. Took my son to Kohls, he needed shorts. On the way home, I said lets stop of at Sonic's.(We never do). We were waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes, all we wanted was the Low cal Cherry limeade (10 calories). It was what they call happy hour, so the drinks were half off.
While we sat there regretting the decision for a drink, we were able to get a good look at the menu, we dont eat there. Their food just doesn't look that good. So reading the menu, we could not believe the amount of calories that were in their food. They had this one burger, with 2 patties, cheese, jalapenos(maybe bacon) I couldnt remember everything on it. But the one burger alone was 1240 calories. Wow!. Scanning the rest of the menu, we really couldnt believe it. The one reason we had a long wait, the car in front of us, a tiny little car ordered about 30 bucks worth of food. OMG.   Our bill was 2.04 for both our drinks. Ok, the drinks were refreshing. But, so not worth the wait.  I remember when Sonic's opened in the town. It was this really big deal. Packed constantly, causing traffic issues, of course after a couple of weeks that ended. I think the only time it is busy now is on weekends.

Whoa its foggy out

I am not a fan of fog. It is so hard to drive in. But I made it to work. It is usually a 45 min drive to work and 45 min home(on good days). Gas is killing me. It is 4.25 today. It has gone up 25 cents since Saturday. Its not right! I know we are all in the same boat. But it is starting to really get me angry. I strive every day to not anger. I say this to myself every morning and afternoon when I get into the car to drive to work/home. It helps me stay calm. We have a lot of rude drivers so I need to not let them anger me. Driving to work would always stress me, just because we have so many cars on the road and everyone seems to always be running late to work.(Or it seems that way). Now, I say my little chant and I have a St Michael medallion and a cross hanging from my rear view and I rub it while I chant(to myself) and my drive is so much better mentally(Of course I do this before I start to drive). It calms me.  Yes I know, I am one of those "California nuts".(And proud of it)

This weekend should be nice and quiet, normal routine. My daughter wants to go to Seaworld to walk around, but not sure  I feel like it. I might just got to the gym instead.

I mentioned the other day that I was into the paranormal. I just wanted to say my daughter and I are really spirtual and not into the bad side of paranormal.  I guess it is hard to explain unless you have been there and witnessed what we have.  God is all around us.

I guess this made it even more confusing. The coffee must be kicking in. Let me repeat again...Yes I know, I am one of those "California nuts".(And proud of it).

I'm so excited

I just bought some tickets to see Chip Coffey in April. If you are not into the paranormal you most likely do not know who he is. But since I am, I am absolutely jazzzed.

During yesterdays walk, it was frickin warmer than I thought, it was at least 80+. So, today I brought in a big jug of homemade Iced Tea. I made it this am while getting ready for work. I want to stay hydrated.
Plus, that damn TOM finally came and I am bloated as all heck. So, drinking more water and Iced Tea will help me tinkle more. (Fingers crossed). It should be a bit cooler, so the walk will be nicer.

My back is so out of whack its crazy. I have chronic back pain, 1984 I was in a major car accident and ever since I have lived with chronic pain. I do have the good stuff for pain control, but I usually use the 800mg Ibuprofen. But today that is not helping at all.  Last night it hurt like hell. But, I did the laundry and vacuumed the house(love dogs, I really do but....hair.). So tonight I just have to cook dinner and feed the birds (I have an aviary in my back yard of cockatiels). Then that is it. I am going to take a flexeril and see if that helps, maybe a hot cup of tea. Stress seems to send it into a scale of 10 for pain. Work has been stressful to say the least. The cost of gas is murder. But, I do have a job and I really do love it. But, it can be stressful. I just cant get comfortable today tho!

Hey Julie!

Hi Julie, just wanted to answer your question.

HMR is a weight loss program. It is very similar to Medi-fast. They use protein shakes, which I love and they have their own little pre-packaged meals, they have their own oatmeal. But truthfully, you can use any oatmeal. It's sounds crazy to just add diet coke, but is is good. My goodness you have to wonder who would think of adding diet cola to oatmeal. I have even added a diet soda to a box of cake mix and bake it. It also comes out good.

Funny thing, the RN that I work with who is always on a diet. She is like 5'5 and about 110. And honestly her tata's must be at least 10 lbs of that 110. She is like perfect to me. You know the kind of body you wish you had (So would your husband, lol). But I digress, she tried my cookies and loved them. So I made some more last night and brought her some. I need to go to My Fitness pal and run the recipe and see how much each cookies it. But, really it depends on how much your oatmeal pack is, cause everything else has no calories, diet cola and Pam spray. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Here our weather is going to be 80 degrees. Yes, we are most definitely Blessed today!

Ouchie

It was so nice to have 4 days off. Friday night my daughter and I went to the Gaslamp district in San Diego for the Ghost and historical tour. I had a blast, not so much because it was scary, which it wasnt at all. But, the tour guide was a crack up. But it was a great walk a little over an hour. But I really enjoyed it. I actually learned a lot about our history. Cool.

Saturday, I went to the gym and worked out. Sunday(Hang head in shame) I didnt. Monday, I tried to do more, I did my 3 miles on the treadmill and then worked out on the equipment. I am a bit stiff today. It sucks getting old. But back at  work today and the weather is warming up, so it will be a great day walking.

This weekend I made the family some spice cake, I use a box of spice cake mix and add a can of pumpkin. Thats it, then bake it and they love it.

I made me oatmeal cookies... Now dont laugh but here is the recipe. I use my HMR Oatmeal (dry) and add a bit a diet cola in it, to moisten it. Then I drop little balls of it, flatten it about and bake it. I know it sounds crazy but it is really good and only has the calories of the dry oatmeal. It makes about 4-6 cookies per individual packages.  My son started to eat them and seemed to enjoy them. I asked him "do you like them ? cause they are diet". He stopped and looked at me and umm they are ok, not much flavor.

Later on I catch him eating another and I said "dude (yes I did say dude) dont eat my diet cookies if you dont like them. He said,  I do like them I was just giving you a hard time.

Long boring meeting.. ok maybe not boring

I have to admit when we have our staff meeting we really do laugh more than get anything done. My two MD bosses are frickin hilarious. The rest of the staff is crazy. My pain in the bootie employee of course called out sick. LOL......

But today is beautiful. Last night was storming again. My son had class from 7pm to 10pm. I am such a worry wart that I had to drive him to school (College) then go back and pick him up. I know, untie the umbilical cord. But it was so stormy and dark.  He was cool with it, he know me way too well. But that meant I had to stay up past my bed time. (Hey I'm old, and I need my sleep.) So come 5:00 am, I was beat. Oh well, I am taking tomorrow off to enjoy a 4 day weekend. Friday night my daughter and I are going on a ghost walking tour of downtown San Diego.  Whoooooo spooky. It is an walking tour. About an hour.

Today, I do not know why (yes I do-PMS) but I was hungry. So I went to the cafe in my building and bought a salad. This salad had cherry tomatoes, olives, corn, Romaine and red cabbage. And it came with fat free dressing. This salad was 110 calories in all. Granted it was mainly Romaine but still what a deal... I was so jazzed. The other day I was looking around and they had the roasted veggie sandwich, it had 600 calories. WTF.. So I ended up getting greek yogurt with blueberries for 170 calories. They didn't have salads yesterday. No the price wasn't cheap, but it was worth it to me.

Whoa nice rain!

Well the rain did wait until around rush hour last night. (Great) But I get home before rush hour. So it was all good. I was able to walk yesterday. It poured all night and this AM, but I think its going to clear again by lunch, so I am going to get to walk again. : )

This AM I have a long (boring) meeting with the uppers. Gosh it drives me crazy that they get paid the big bucks. Then another staff(boring) meeting on Thursday. Did I ever mention how much I hate meetings. Usually they are such a waste of time. Oh well, I am paid by the hour.15757675_8783

I am PMSie and really cranky, I need to control that.  Ugh. It's too early but that is what happens at my age. It does what ever it pleases. 

Tonight's dinner should be good. I am going to broil chicken tenders and roast some Brussels sprouts and asparagus. Love it. But I have really been craving some Salmon. I gotta get me some!

Rainy weekend

It was a cold and rainy weekend. Nice to have a fire in roaring. Not a lot of excitment. I found this item while at Target, (getting that movie). My son loves McRibs (not really sure why). So I bought them for him to try. He hasn't tried it yet. I made turkey enchiladas last night(from the Smoked turkey we did last week). I saved some and froze it. I like turkey meat, but I hate turkey enchiladas. I don't know why, I like chicken enchiladas,  just not turkey. But the family likes them. I cooked me some ground beef about  half a pound, so I cooked that up, drained it, then added onions, zucchini, mushrooms, peppers and a ton of cabbage and made a stir fry thingy. It was good and it made so much that I will have some for dinner again tonight. It is suppose to rain today, I heard it should start about 2pm, so I least I can still walk at lunch.

Last week, I was home alone, so I was watching some music videos on the telly, and did my own little zumba class. (Have I mentioned before that I am a real dork?)  But I worked up a sweat. I sat down to take off my socks, I was twisted a little talking to the dog, and I pulled a stomach muscle, hurt like heck. It still hurts. Dont know how I did it, but the minute I did it, I was in pain. Almost like a cramp but worse. My stomach still bothers me. Dang it all.

Sweet Lord it's Friday!!!!

I love me some Fridays, this weekend I have no plans.. Yeah!!!! Ok, maybe one, and I dont want this to offend anyone but...... I cant wait for the new Twilight DVD to come out tonight. I know, (hangs head in shame). Please people dont judge me. It is my one vice.(Besides casinos and the occasional curse word and maybe the dirty thoughts when I see David Beckham).
But the scenery in the movie is so pretty.  I also love the music.  The story is fun too.

Besides that I pretty much will stay around the house, clean, laundry and go to the gym. I plan to treat myself to the gyms hydromassage.:)

Well the weather is beautiful again today, so I cant wait for my walk at lunch. Should be really pleasant.

Amazing weather today

Wow, I had to walk to the hospital from my office(remember we moved our office) it is about a 10 min walk each way(give or take depending on the pep in your step). I usually do this 1-2 times a day for mail and other stuff, today the weather rocks! Monday I was in an all day seminar, Tuesday rained like crazy and yesterday was windy(but I walked). Today, I am so looking forward to it. Warm and sunny. Man, I think I might sneak in an extra 10-15 minutes to my hour. Hope nobody notices. But days like this who can resist?

I made turkey chili last night, it was good. I still have some turkey left so, I was thinking of making the fella's in my house a turkey pot pie on Sunday. I did freeze the left overs. Tonight, I took out chicken bratwurst for my boy, and chicken tenders for me. Not sure what I am going to do with my chicken yet. But, I will think of something yummy to do with it. I have some Brussel sprouts and or asparagus to go with them. Or, I could make a chicken stir fry, I have cabbage,  mushrooms, zucchini and onions, and peppers..Whoa that sounds like a hit to me!

Well darn it!

Yesterday, I was in a work seminar all-day. Ugh... for once I was glad I drink so much and have to tinkle a lot. It gave me a great excuse to leave several times...Boring.

Saturday, I was in my Reiki Level II class all day, brought my drinks and they supplied water. I come in to the class and on each seat were two pieces of chocolate. Sheesh what is up with peeps. I put them up on the table. No thanks.

 I went to Costco and Wal-Mart Sunday AM. Oh gosh, that was a blonde moment. It was crazy packed. But, I got my water to bring to work, and a bunch of veggies. I do love their packages of veggies. My darling doggies needed new beds too. Their old ones were about 2 years old and I have to admit, they lasted pretty well until about a couple of months ago when the dogs realized how much fun it was to shred them. Sunday afternoon was more relaxing.

Good news the weight is starting to come off. Sunday helped, I ate a large plate of veggies with sliced smoke turkey breast meat. Well I ate a little to many veggies and the ole bowels weren't too happy(if you know what I mean)lol.

I am soooo mad

I am getting really mad, for the last week I have been drinking tons of water. Eating exceptional well. Last night for dinner, roasted veggies and brown rice. Today on scale no loss, (actually all week). I was so disappointed, I felt like saying $@#$ it. Got dressed went to work, filled up my water bottle and almost thought about not walking at lunch. I mean really, it sucks. 60 minutes of walking isnt really all that fun. Especially when everyone else is resting, eating lunch and socializing. But noooo, not me I am walking and walking and walking. I come back stretch and get back to work. Let me tell ya, I do still get sore from all this walking. I come home from work and watch a bit of TV when my chores are done. I get up to go tinkle and ugh, I am stiff. In the morning I wake up, get out of bed to shower and I am stiff. SOOOO why is the weight not coming off. I think it calls for some drastic measures. Ya, first I felt like giving up.... but I got over the pity party for one. I am going to kick it up a bit, I am going to drink my shakes during the day and go back to veggies only. It really worked for me. Ya, I will be a bit crabby at least until the weight starts coming back off. Then I will be all happy again.

Desperate times

OK, I am doing something wrong. I record everything I eat, drink and exercise on MFP. Yet here I am still not losing weight...not even a 1lb. WTH. So today, I brought to work a workout rope (resistance bands). The kind where you put your feet in straps and your hands in the others and stretch. So, I can workout with this through out the day.

This Saturday I have a level 2 Reiki class, which is all day. But should be fun. Then Sunday is the Superbowl. (Yawn). But we are going to smoke a turkey that day, so that should be tasty. Otherwise I hope its a peaceful weekend.

Dinner was great.

So I had a serving of my roasted veggies and 3/4 brown rice with a baked chicken tender and Yum. Guess what, I am going to have it again for dinner tonight! In the crockpot I have spaghetti sauce cooking and the family will have spaghetti  for dinner tonight. Last night my son had chicken and he likes roasted asparagus and brussel sprouts. So I cooked those and a sweet potato for him. He was very happy when he got home fom school to find that for dinner!

I have found, thanks to my darling daughter, a new snack. It is 100 cal packs of Kettlecorn. Yes Kettlecorn! Yum. It hits the spot when craving something sweet. Granted it doesn't hit the "Chocolate sweet spot". But it helps a lot.
